He’s been Governor for 8 years and as he plots his Presidential run, realizes he cannot be elected while California has an obscenely high cost of housing–the highest in the nation. It is under his reign that his Democrat-run state has become a toxic place to build, let alone buy, a home.

ABC30 quotes Newsom as pitching how he thinks (hopes? fantasizes?) this will impact the building of housing: “59% increase in housing construction, 57% decrease in the time to getting permits,” he said. “That’s real. That’s the receipt.” These are not receipts–these are the same claims for policies that have proven to be false at best, and causative at worst.
