Accused Viewpoint School child sex predator free, conditions of bail released.
Travis Shojinaga, a 39 year old teacher at Viewpoint School, a Calabasas private academy, was formally charged last week with one felony count of possession of child abuse material and four misdemeanor counts of child molestation of multiple female students.
Shojinaga’s bail was set at $1 million. He is now free, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. The DA has released these conditions of Shojinaga’s bail:
• no contact with victims
• obey protective order covering victims
• stay away from Viewpoint School
• do not work in any profession where children are present
Sources tell me Shojinaga was not equipped with a tracking device while on bail, but if convicted, he will most likely be required by the court to wear an ankle monitor alerting police of his every move in real time.
The number of child sex abuse incidents by Shojinaga at Viewpoint School continue to grow as police search for more victims. Sources say Shojinaga took upskirt images of children in his elementary classroom and the victims are mostly blond-haired.
Prosecutors are urging anyone with information to contact Sergeant Joe Cerda at LASD’s Special Victims Bureau at (562) 946-8216. Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact LA Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-8477 or http://lacrimestoppers.org
