Surprise, surprise… the LAX People Mover is delayed — again.
The $3 billion automated train was supposed to begin carrying passengers next month.
Now the earliest potential opening is January 2027 — and even that isn’t guaranteed.
The two-mile system was originally set to open in 2023 and is reportedly 99% complete. But it still needs 30 consecutive days of successful testing, an independent safety review and final airport approval.
It missed the World Cup. Now it could miss the Super Bowl at SoFi Stadium in February.
My bet: it won’t make it before the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
