It is part of the California political ecosystem that we need to make every effort to stop the coming climate change heatwave (or is it the coming ice-age?) and we need to spend untold dollars to do it. Jon Fleischman, writing on his great “So, Does It Matter?”on Substack, and the California Post, that we, as taxpayers, are due an accounting of where the money goes–and if anything has been accomplished. He brings the receipts:
“Nobody seriously questions that carbon dioxide affects the climate. What’s actually in dispute is whether that fact justifies every tax, fee, mandate and restriction California politicians have bolted onto it. For too long, Sacramento has assumed the answer is yes, without ever having to prove it. That failure isn’t a reason for more time. It’s a reason to start winding this down.”
