The crime rate across the USA is dropping, with special emphasis on violent crime and homicides. President Trump deserves much of the credit as he has deployed the resources–think DC and Memphis–to address the gray pall of crime that depresses Americans, particularly in big, blue cities. Some liberal writers, like Paul Krugman, are contorting themselves into human pretzels to take issue with the good news.
John Lott writes a response to the left in Real Clear Politics: “The FBI dramatically increased enforcement in 2025. FBI arrests rose 184% over 2024 levels, while total FBI arrests – including many joint operations with state and local agencies – increased 197%.”
