From the Daily Beast:

California Gov. Gavin Newsom came out swinging against a Senate deal to end the government shutdown, deeming it a Democratic “surrender.”

The longest government shutdown in U.S. history inched closer to a resolution after a highly anticipated late-night Senate meeting on Sunday, but not all Democrats are happy.

“America deserves better,” Newsom wrote on X after the vote.

After nearly six weeks of folding their arms and acting like they had the upper hand, a handful of Dems join the the GOP in bringing the silliness to an end. Get more details here.

The Senate appears to be on track Sunday night, November 9th to pass a bipartisan deal that could end the federal government shutdown with a bi-partisan deal in the works. The government shutdown began on Oct. 1.

My DC sources tell me that the shutdown would never reach Thanksgiving, because no one wants to be on the hook for delayed air travel on the Sunday following Turkey Day, which is typically the most traveled day of the year.
