LA Mayor Karen Bass appears to be following the Biden-Harris playbook and going quiet until after the June 2 election. Following a lackluster debate performance last week, she has withdrawn from a May 13 televised forum, the League of Women Voters confirmed.
The move echoes Vice President Kamala Harris’s retreat from media appearances after a tough 2021 NBC interview, and Joe Biden’s largely virtual “basement campaign” during his run for president in the spring of 2020.
