They must really be planning to hit bad LA traffic if they are starting this early…The 2028 Torch relay kicked off yesterday in Atlanta, host city for the 1996 Olympics. The rally will make its way through all 50 states on a route that will not be announced until 2027. The LA28.org website credits all the sponsors and promotes the paralympics, while proclaiming the Torch Relay will” bring communities together and bring the spirit of the Games to America’s doorstep”.
It is only half kidding to think about the traffic and the LA Olympic games. SecretLosAngeles.com warns: “California Department of Transportation is developing a massive Games Route Network for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics. The planned network spans about 369 miles of freeways and local streets, creating a special system of routes for official Games vehicles. And yes, some of those roads are ones Angelenos use every day.”
