In fact, fully one in three Dems consider themselves “Democratic Socialist” according to CNN poll. And in worse news for Democrats, the members of the socialist wing, “Are more likely to say they are extremely motivated to vote this year (66% of those who are registered voters say so, compared to 57% for non-democratic socialists), though both groups overwhelmingly support Democratic congressional candidates (99% of democratic socialists and 94% of non-democratic socialists).
Clearly a third of your party is not a niche–it’s a takeover. While the Democrats battle for intramural control, the radical positions espoused by the DSA–and embraced by fully one-third of Democrats, could be good news for the Republicans.
