Cal Globe: Democrat Lawmakers Must Want Crime, Drugs and Homelessness to Increase

By Drew Hayes

Not funding Prop 36–approved by voters apparently isn’t enough incentive for criminals to commit crimes for California Democrats. Now comes AB 2108 which Katy Grimes in the California Globe warns will ‘undercut Prop 36’. Just what the Democrats love to do–threaten democracy by undoing a popular vote.
Remember that Prop 36 “restored felony penalties for repeat offenders after a decade of disaster and rising crime under Prop 47. Fed-up voters demanded accountability for smash-and-grab thefts, organized retail crime, and open drug dealing,” reminds Grimes’ piece. When the legislature returns, the Appropriations Committee will take it up. This is a developing story.
