It’s not your imagination, if you get your news from Apple News on your iPhone, a new study suggests you may be getting a politically biased picture.
The conservative Media Research Center examined Apple News‘ top 20 daily stories during the second half of September.
Of 117 stories involving Republican policy priorities, researchers classified 84 as negative, 33 as neutral, and not a single one as positive. That’s 72% negative coverage, zero percent positive.
Issues included immigration, crime, taxes and government spending. MRC accuses Apple of promoting a left-wing political agenda just weeks before the midterm elections.
The study doesn’t establish deliberate election interference, but it raises questions about Apple’s editorial choices and with millions relying on Apple News, those choices matter. As always, judge for yourself.
