Candidate for LA mayor, Nithya Raman could be losing one of her most important political allies just two weeks before the Los Angeles mayoral election.

According to Vanity Fair, national leaders of the Democratic Socialists of America are considering revoking their endorsement of Raman because she hasn’t explicitly supported the movement to boycott, divest from and sanction Israel.
The controversy centers on the local DSA chapter, which endorsed Raman without first requiring her position on the anti-Israel BDS movement.
National leaders say that violated the organization’s rules.
More than 900 local DSA members voted to endorse Raman, and local leaders are fighting to preserve that endorsement.
Losing it could cost Raman valuable campaign volunteers and organizing support.
But there’s another political wrinkle.
Raman has been trying to appeal to more moderate and conservative voters, including supporters of former mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt.
Some political observers argue losing the socialist endorsement could actually help her with those voters.
