California mayor accused of stalking hairstylist she mistook for ICE

By Jeff Vaughn

A California mayor is accused of following a hairstylist for 25 minutes—because she thought he was an ICE agent.

Fresno hairstylist Eric Bridges says Kerman Mayor Maria Pacheco photographed his Mercedes, blocked him in and followed him to his sister’s home.

Bridges tells FOX26 the woman said she was checking for ICE. When his sister asked who she was, he says she answered, “I’m somebody important.”

Bridges says she then made an obscene gesture and drove away.

His attorney says Bridges has never worked for ICE or Homeland Security. Bridges reports receiving threats since the encounter, although FOX26 has not independently verified them.

His attorney has requested an investigation into possible stalking and false imprisonment. No criminal charges have been announced.

Pacheco, who is running for Fresno County supervisor, has not responded to media’s requests for comment.
