Turkey, sides and pie: Walmart offers a $35 holiday dinner

Walmart talks turkey: Holiday dinner for 10 hits $35

Walmart is carving the price of holiday dinner — offering a meal basket designed to feed 10 people for $35.

That’s $3.50 a person, down from about $4 last year, as retailers compete for shoppers watching their budgets.

The 26-item basket includes a Butterball turkey and ingredients for stuffing, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole and pumpkin pie.

Walmart says this year’s basket contains 18% more items and costs 12% less than those same groceries did last year.

The offer runs through Christmas Eve, in stores and online. Availability varies, and pickup, shipping or delivery fees may apply.

The groceries are bundled. The cooking is still on you.
