Barack Obama served up the insult. The Cheesecake Factory is getting the last laugh.
The former president recently mocked President Trump’s White House décor, saying it looked like “Saddam Hussein opened a Cheesecake Factory.”

Customers apparently haven’t lost their appetite for those elaborate interiors—or what’s coming out of the kitchen.
The restaurant responded with something sweeter than its signature cheesecake: third-quarter revenue of $1.03 billion, with sales at its restaurants jumping 15.2%—and attracting new conservative customers like Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who served up a response of his own.
After lunch at a Washington Cheesecake Factory Monday, Bessent praised the food and suggested Obama’s Martha’s Vineyard crowd give it a try — accusing Obama of elitism.
Then he roasted the Obama Presidential Center’s design, comparing it to “Darth Vader’s tomb.”
The company’s executives stayed out of the political food fight during their earnings call announcing the sales numbers, letting the results do the talking.
Obama can roast the décor. Cheesecake Factory is busy counting the dough.
The Cheesecake Factory’s headquarters are located in Calabasas, California.
The publicly traded company can be found on the Nasdaq stock exchange under the ticker symbol CAKE.
