Nearly 80% of voters said NO to a needless tax assessment to pay for streetlights. The city wanted to replace the streetlights, many of which don’t work because the city does nothing about the thieves who steal the copper wire that causes the lights to stay dark. 80% rejected paying more for the failure of Karen Bass and the city to provide even the most basic city service–keeping the lights on. LAist says it takes a year to get a light fixed once it is reported. A year. Who would reelect a mayor –or a socialist city council member–who are part of the problem?
