While blaming President Trump for investigating him, Gavin Newsom proved that the investigation is wholly warranted. Newsom paid a $30,000 fine for failing to disclose $5,600,000 in donations, known as ‘behested’ payments, so it is pretty tough to claim that the DOJ is just being mean by looking into the finances of the governor and his wife. There are reports that Newsom did list, get this, receiving $17,693,122 in behested money in 2025. Move along, nothing to see here.
