How can voters expect meaningful progress on problems in Los Angeles and California if there only attention is directed toward fighting the president?

John Erickson and Brian Goldsmith are competing for California’s 24th Senate District, stretching from Malibu to Palos Verdes. Each is making President Trump the major focus of their campaigns.
Erickson told the Beverly Press he blames the president for making life harder for Californians.
Goldsmith says California must use every available tool to stand up to Trump.
But what about the problems closer to home?
Los Angeles residents are dealing with staggering housing costs, homelessness, public safety concerns and the rising cost of everyday necessities. And the highest in the nation gas prices. All California issues.
But for these two, there is only one solution: beat Trump.
And that raises a serious question about campaign priorities.
The state Senate makes decisions affecting housing, taxes, public safety and the cost of living.
They’re running for the California Legislature. That is not a national position… and blaming Washington doesn’t lower the rent, clean up an encampment or make a neighborhood safer.
Erickson and Goldsmith’s priority is not fixing California’s problems — it’s fighting a president 3,000 miles away.
