An Los Angeles county company is proposing electric trains.

Voltify pairs battery locomotives with high-power chargers placed along the route. No wires over the tracks. No trains parked for hours.

Next to the track, Voltify will build small renewable power plants to energize locomotives.

Voltify has raised 30 million dollars to build it out.
